Our lives are filled with stress, that’s no big secret. It’s okay to be afraid, it’s entirely okay to be anxious. It takes a truly brave person to just carry on, in spite of their fears. In this article, we are going to talk about all the common fears of 40+ males.
Depending on someone
Our freedom and our independence are two things that everyone cherishes. As people get older, they slowly but surely lose their independence. Not all men apricate this dose of hard-hitting reality.
Safety and security
As you get older, you start worrying about everything – including your own safety. Older people are prime targets for heartless criminals, who strike knowing that a middle-aged person won’t put up much of a fight.
Well, that’s the unpleasant reality. You’re not as spry as you used to be, you finally realize how truly frail our bodies are. It doesn’t take much to lose your health real fast.
Lack of money
Whether you like it or you don’t, money is a measure of success. Men are usually prideful, so some are bound to feel like underachievers if they haven’t made a fortune prior to hitting 40s. Some might get severely depressed thinking they could’ve done more and have basically failed at life.
Going gray and/or balding
Men care about their appearance as much (if not more) as women do. Going gray may be someone’s worst fear. No matter how petty or superficial it sounds, some men are deathly afraid of their looks getting tarnished.
Erectile dysfunction and other sex-related issues
According to several studies this is the biggest fear that men face. We feel like it’s pretty self-explanatory. ED messes with their brains, their confidence and makes them feel less masculine.
